Bank of India Employees Association, Kolkata is one of the oldest Bank wise Trade Union formed in the country in 1946. Previously it was comprising the members of West Bengal, Odisha along with Eastern States - Sikkim, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. After bifurcating the Eastern states' unit and BOIEU Odisha, BOIEA Kolkata is in its journey of Eighth Decade for the members of West Bengal. The unit had seen and suffered all the political and rival attacks during its journey. An overwhelming changes in affiliation took place in the state during 1950-1960, but BOIEA Kolkata never lost its hope and integrity with AIBEA and Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions. BOIEA Kolkata along with the ideologically united members overcome and succeeded all the chaos within a short period. We remember our stalwart leader Com Sushil Ghosh (Sushil Da) who was the President of BOIEA Kolkata. Com Sushil Da was holding prime position in the FOBOISU & AIBEA and played vital role in organizing the members and the trade union movement further towards unity, self respect, dignity and workers right proactively. BOIEA Kolkata is one of the vibrant units of FOBOISU and stands with the members proactively.
