Bank of India Employees' Association, North Eastern Region (BOIEANER) formed on 28th May 2023, stands as the mother unit representing all seven North Eastern states. BOIEANER encompasses the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. First branch of BOI was opened in Guwahati in 1962 and Guwahati Zone was opened later in 2011. Due to limited number of branches and staff in the region, members of North-East region were affiliated to BOIEA, Kolkata till formation of a separate unit. We remember our legendary leader, Com Pradip Kumar Lahkar, a stalwart of the Bank Employees' movement across the entire North Eastern Region. His potential knowledge, leadership and ideology earned him the reverence among bank employees and he was elected as the President of APBEF which is the state federation of AIBEA at an young age of 40. He was also the first CC Member of AIBEA from the North-East. Com PK Lahkar's dream of forming an independent BOI Employees unit for the North-Eastern States came true in 2023 after his lifetime only. BOIEANER with young blood, is one of the vibrant and dynamic units of FOBOISU, APBEF AND AIBEA striving hard to stand up for workers' rights and a social justice.
