Bank Of India Employees' Association, Punjab was formed in February 1973 and is comprising members of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Union Territory of Chandigarh. Previously there were four separate units in the name of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Chandigarh. In a conference held at Amritsar, all the units were combined and formed in the name of BOIEA, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Chandigarh. BOIEA, Punjab unit is one of the active and vibrant unit of the Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions. Com DS Rajput and Com CM Mehra were the founder President and General Secretary. Majority of the employees stand with BOIEA, Punjab despite the presence of rival unions. BOIEA, Punjab unit has the legacy of Five Decades and contributed to Punjab Bank Employees Federation as well as Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions. Many prominent leaders representing the unit have took part in AIBEA, PBEF and FOIBOISU in various positions. Employees' right and protection of the members are the prime focus of the unit and stand firm with FOBOISU, PBEF and AIBEA.
