Bank Of India Employees' Union, Solapur was established on 06th April, 1962 under the guidance of stalwart leaders Com Chitnis, Com Purav and Com Paranjpe. Com Paranjpe had been the President. BOIEU, Solapur unit started its existence with meagre membership and now the unit has grown to mighty & stronger position with unwavering support and faith of the members. BOIEU Solapur had seen all odds of division in the late nineties. Trust of the members on the union made the unity possible once again and presently BOIEU Solapur is proud to be the only union representing BOI Employees in Solapur under one umbrella of AIBEA and FOBOISU with complete unity. BOIEU Solapur Unit under the leadership of Com Gajanan Mehendale who was the General Secretary for Two Decades and Vice President of FOBOISU played major role in Bank Employees movement in Solapur and also played vital role in forming trade union in the Solapur Gramin Bank (Regional Rural Bank). We remember the support and patronage given to us by our leaders Com Chitnis, Com Purav and Com.Paranjpe and our former General Secretaries Com Lalasaheb Jadhav and Com Ashok Bhosale who toiled for the growth of the unit. Besides, trade union activities BOIEU, Solapur unit focus on sports activities and also recently launched "Immediate Financial Assistance Scheme" for the bereaved family of deceased staff member. BOIEU Solapur Unit will always render its support and stand with AIBEA & FOBOISU for the protection, welfare, social security of members and social equality.
