Bank of India Staff Association, U.P. was established during the Ghaziabad Conference held on 15-18 September, 1986. State federation UPBEU had decided to form bank wise organizations by amending the constitution in its Saharanpur Conference (January, 1985) making it a confederation. In the Saharanpur conference itself, UPBEU had decided to give a model constitution to bank-wise organizations for their formation. Accordingly, the establishment conference of the Association held in Ghaziabad and adopted the Model Constitution and was registered under the provisions of the Trade Union Act 1926 with the Registrar Trade Unions, UP, Kanpur in November, 1988. Com. NK sharma from Ghaziabad was the founding General Secretary followed by Com. Parmanand from Lucknow. Com Parmanand and Com SK Seth had the longest tenure as General Secretary and President respectively. At present Com Anant Kumar Mishra and Com. Arvind Pandey are leading the organization as General Secretary and President respectively. It consists of 7 Zones (Agra, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Hardoi,Kanpur, Lucknow & Varanasi) in UP and 1 Zone (Dehradun ) in Uttarakhand. We are proud to say that now Bank of India Staff Association UP & Uttarakhand has the majority stake of membership in both the states. We are one of the Vibrant and militant Unit of FOBOISU, UPBEU and AIBEA committed for the welfare of workmen and the working class.
