Bank Of India Staff Union, Surat and South Gujarat Branches formed on 06th June, 1949 is one of the oldest constituent of Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions. Com Amritlal Desai, a simple and dedicated leader was the founder General Secretary of the unit. Surat Unit had played vital role since the time of Desai Award in negotiation for worker's right. BOISU Surat Unit stood shoulder to shoulder with FOBOISU fully by participating vibrantly in the 42 Days All India Strike called by the Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions till the achievement of employee's demands including reinstatement of the dismissed leaders in 1951. We remember all our past leaders and salute our living legends including Com Amratlal Desai, Com HT Ghadiali, Com Yogesh Desai, Com Suman Desai and Com Jayesh Desai who have endeavored to build the organization firmly with commitment. BOISU Surat unit has always stood firm against exploitation of members and vindictive actions against the employees under the guidance of FOBOISU. BOISU Surat unit plays pivotal role in the Maha Gujarat Bank Employees' Association also in the line of AIBEA. It is significant to mention that BOISU Surat has incorporated the next generation in the leadership to take the flag and pride further.
