BOISU Chennai, formed on 25th July, 1951 is the mother unit of entire South States and celebrated its Platinum Jubilee recently. At the time of its formation, it comprised present Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka units. Com D Nadarajan was the founder General Secretary of BOISU Chennai. Considering the expansion of branches and effective functioning of the union, Kerala Unit was formed separately under the leadership of Com KJ Joseph, Karnataka Unit under the leadership of Com Ragavendra Rao and Andhra unit under the leadership of Com CGK Murthy. BOISU Chennai remembers its stalwart leaders like Com N Sampath (Honorary President till his last breath), Com KJ Joseph, Com CGK Murthy, Com Ragavendra Rao who were associated with the unit. BOISU Chennai always stands for unity and set an example by integrating/amalgamating BOI Award Staff Union (Affiliate of NCBE) with BOISU Chennai under AIBEA with great efforts and visionary thinking of Com R Sankaranarayanan and Com CP Chandrasekaran. This historic event of unity was held on 29th July, 2012 in the presence of Com N Sampath (Then Hony President), Com CH Venkatachalam (Gen Secy-AIBEA) and Com Dinesh Jha Lallan (Gen Secy-FOBOISU). BOISU Chennai with its members united ideologically is one of the contributing, vibrant and militant unit of FOBOISU, TNBEF and AIBEA who stands for the Workers Right, Equity and Equality.
